Jacobees was built on more than just a passion for beekeeping. It was built on a relationship that changed my life.
My uncle, Dick Miller, is the reason I ever stepped into this world. He didn’t just teach me how to keep bees—he taught me patience, respect for nature, and what it means
to truly care for something bigger than yourself. Every hive, every lesson, and every small success came from time spent learning alongside him.
In early 2025, he passed away.
That winter, I struggled more than ever. I started to question if I was really meant to do this on my own. But when spring came, something changed. For the first time, one of my hives made it through the winter.
And I knew.
In that moment, it didn’t feel like luck. It felt like him—still guiding me, still teaching me, still pushing me forward.
Jacobees exists to carry that forward.
This isn’t just about honey or products. It’s about honoring a legacy, protecting the future of beekeeping, and doing things the right way—every single time. Everything I build is rooted in what he taught me, and every step forward is a continuation of what he started.
